The City of Bristol is committed to and respects the privacy of its Web site users.  Our goal is to provide you with a Web site that gives a personalized internet experience, and that delivers information, resources and services that are relevant and helpful.

Social Media Comments Policy

We welcome your comments on the City of Bristol’s Facebook Pages or Twitter account or any other social media outlets.

The purpose of these sites is to present matter of public interest in Bristol to our many residents, businesses and visitors.  Here you will find the latest City news, including city-related special events, programs and services.  We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online site and not a public forum.

Once posted, the City reserves the right to delete submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks, or disparaging comments of any kind, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group.  Further, the City also reserves the right to delete comments that are:

  1. Spam or include links to other sites
  2. Clearly off topic
  3. Advocate illegal activity
  4. Promote particular services, products or political organizations
  5. Infringe on copyrights or trademarks
  6. Use personally identifiable medial information; we recommend you not share any of your medical information on our Facebook pages, Twitter feeds or other social media outlets.
  7. Contain any information or statements that would negatively affect the City’s image

The City of Bristol does not claim any ownership rights in photos that you post or share on our social media pages. However, by posting a photo on our pages you hereby grant the City of Bristol a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, delete from, add to, publicly display and/or reproduce your photo, including without limitation in any online media formats and through any social media channels, pages or accounts.  You can revoke this license at any time by contacting us in writing at comments@bristoltn.org and informing us that you no longer want us to use your photo.
