Job Access

Overview

Job Access Transit is a service provided by the Public Works Department for city residents that need transportation assistance to and from their job within the city limits. To apply for Job Access, you must meet specific qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Permanent residence within city limits
  • Job inside city limits (we do not cross state lines)
  • Working telephone number with voicemail capabilities to be notified of changes
  • You do not have a vehicle or any other means of transportation including the mass transit system

Approval is dependent on open availability.

Application Process

To apply, call (423-989-5582) and submit your personal information for approval.

Personal information includes:

  • Name
  • Working telephone number with voicemail
  • Home address
  • Work address
  • Work phone number
  • Work schedule

Your personal information will be reviewed by the Job Access Department. You will be contacted via phone to complete the application process and to discuss more specific details of the program.

Cost

The cost for Job Access Transit is $0.60 per trip. Drivers do not carry money for change, please have exact amount. There is an option of purchasing a 10 trip bus pass for $6.00.
