- All traffic signal systems are being upgraded with LED lighting which reduces energy use by 90%. 186 traffic signal heads and 22 school flashing beacons have been upgraded so far, representing approximately 50% of the total to be completed.

- Use of E-Gov for zoning designation inquiries has eliminated production of paper maps and zoning forms as replies are emailed to the person making the inquiry.
- Use of technology in the field to reduce unnecessary trips to consummate business in the office (BMP).
- Trip planning/route maximization when scheduling of inspections and site visits to reduce mileage and fuel utilization (BMP).
- Energy efficiency standards have been adopted and are enforced through the 2006 International Energy Code and the 2006 Residential Code.
- 6 Energy Star compliant servers have been installed for EDP applications (BMP).
- Over 200 CRT monitors have been upgraded with Energy Star compliant LCD displays (BMP).
- Equipping of city vehicles with LED emergency light bars that allow operation with the vehicle turned off (BMP).
- 4 day work weeks have been instituted, and will be expanded, when practical (BMP).
- Dual monitors are in use by staff that routinely works with complex financial spreadsheets from multiple source documents to minimize data printing.
- Implementation of a policy to turn vehicles off and avoid unnecessary idling whenever possible (BMP).
- Imaging technology for document storage is being used for maintenance and retrieval of important records (BMP).
