Saturday, November 6, 2021 - Annual Veteran’s Day Parade. Parking in the northern parking lot of the Downtown Center (the portion accessed from State Street) will be blocked at 6:00 a.m. On-street parking along the parade route (West State Street between Bob Morrison Boulevard and Volunteer Parkway/Commonwealth Avenue; State Street between Volunteer Parkway/Commonwealth Avenue and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard; Lee Street between State Street and Lee Street between State Street and Scott Street; and Cumberland Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Piedmont Avenue) will also be blocked off, starting at 6:00 a.m. Lee Street between Cumberland Street and Beaver Creek bridge will be closed to all traffic at 6:00 a.m. Bob Morrison Boulevard will be closed at 7:30 a.m. for parade staging. Cumberland Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Piedmont Avenue will be closed to all traffic at 9:45 a.m. The parade along the parade route will start at 10:00 a.m. and the streets along the parade route will be closed to traffic from just before 10:00 a.m. until the clean-up after the parade ends is complete. After the parade is over, Lee Street from Cumberland Street to the Beaver Creek bridge remains closed until approximately noon for the commemorative Veteran’s Day ceremonies in adjacent Cumberland Square Park.
