[ARCHIVED] Parks and Recreation’s girls’ spring softball league registration offered

The 2016 Girls’ Softball League of Bristol, Tennessee is now open for registration. The league is open to all girls, ages 6 to 14 years old, as of December 31, 2015. Register online now at, or attend a registration and information meeting at the Slater Center, located at 325 McDowell Street, in the Computer Lab, room 205. The dates for the meeting are February 22, 23, 25, 29 or March 1 and 3, 2016. Registration ends March 5, 2016.
“This is a fundamentals recreation softball league. Those girls, 8 years old and under, will hit from a tee. Girls 10 years old and under will play a combination of girl pitch and tee. Girls 14 years old and under will play girl pitch softball,” said Mike Musick, Superintendent of Recreation. “Practices will begin in mid-March. All games will be played at the Rotary Park fields.” A summer league will also be offered in June, more information on that league will be offered at a later date.
“The spring league, 14 and under age division, will not begin until the first of May so that middle school players can participate. Please register in February to play in this age division. Registering is not a violation of the TSSAA rules,” said Sandra Cole with Parks and Recreation.
