Bristol Skateway and the Bristol Tennessee Police Department are gearing up to create “Unity in our Community” through a special event that invites the public to enjoy an evening of roller skating while interacting with BTPD officers.

Free skate rentals, pizza and soft drinks will be provided from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29. Bristol Skateway is located at 210 Skateway Drive.

“This is one more step in our ongoing efforts to build a stronger Bristol,” said Community Outreach Officer Chesney Roark. “It’s the perfect opportunity to take a break from our busy lives, come together in a fun environment, and get to know each other better.”

Police Chief Matt Austin, school resource officers, and other BTPD officers will be available to answer questions and share information about the police department’s programs and services. Similar events will be held throughout the community in the coming months.
